We recently hired Raincity Decks to replace the front and back decks on our house with a TREX composite deck, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Our project was anything but straightforward: it involved removing sleepers on a torch-on surface, replacing stairs that were falling apart, and dealing with railings that needed to fit onto new TREX decking, which was a different thickness than the 25 year old rotten wood.
From the start, Jeff—our project lead—demonstrated outstanding workmanship and professionalism. The entire Raincity Decks team handled the complexities of our job with skill and attention to detail. They made sure the torch-on surface was properly protected during removal and installation, and the new stairs are solid and beautifully finished.
One thing that truly impressed us was their approach to communication. Whenever we uncovered an issue or had a question, Jeff was quick to respond, clearly explained our options, and kept us in the loop throughout the process. This level of transparency and care is rare and made a big difference in our experience.
The pricing was fair for the scope and quality of work involved. There were no surprise costs, and we genuinely felt we received excellent value for our investment. Well, what started as a project where I thought I had picked the right contractor , quickly went south on me. As agreed I would pay for additional work for replacing any damaged plywood decking, well they replaced 9 sheets and charged back 52 hrs at $115.00 . That’s more than 7.5 hrs per sheet??
Then I discovered they wanted to charge me for garbage bags , safety goggles etc. I did get them to adjust these as it was not realistic. Then there was a messy site , not safe , railings missing parts and finally I discovered that they missed screwing in 7 of 8 screws to secure the the first 2 posts of my railing. This is dangerous.
I would not recommend this company as the workmanship is sub standard as to what one would reasonably expect.

Despite some scheduling challenges, Rain City Decks did a great job replacing an old Duradeck.
The crew took pride in their work, and kept the site clean during the install. There were some tricky bits to deal with but everything was restored perfectly. When you rip up an old deck, there are always surprises and any additional necessary work that wasn’t quoted for was clearly explained in advance. Thank You Rain City.
