We hired Rain City Decks to repair our top deck and stair landing after receiving a quote for $7,000. We paid the required $3,500 deposit in March, with the understanding that work would begin in May. Instead, the project did not start until June 2.
Shortly after work began, we were told there were additional rotten areas that would require extra work and additional charges. In our opinion, these areas were visible and should have been identified during the initial inspection rather than becoming costly change orders after the project was underway.
To make matters worse, we received an invoice dated June 12 showing our account as overdue even though the project had not been completed. We found this completely unacceptable.
The workmanship also fell below our expectations. The job site was left unclean, and the crew had to return for another full day to correct numerous deficiencies that should have been addressed the first time.
During the project, the crew put two holes in the exterior of our house to support a tarp. While we were given $100 for the damage, we did not feel this adequately addressed the issue.
In the end, we reluctantly paid the final invoice because we wanted the project finished, not because we were satisfied with the experience. From the delayed start, poor project planning, unexpected additional costs, premature invoicing, cleanup issues, property damage, and the need to return to fix workmanship problems, this was not the level of service we expected from a professional contractor.
We have another 400-square-foot deck project planned, but based on this experience, Rain City Decks will not be getting our business again. We cannot recommend them based on our experience.

We meant to post a review back in the early spring when Rain City actually redid our front deck for us but we kept forgetting! Sorry guys! From our initial discussion and estimate on through the tear out and new deck everyone was easy to talk to and pleasant to have around. Deck turned out great too! Meeting Nick from Raincity Decks gave me confidence the job was going to be done right, and it was. On time, on budget with no issues. Communication about dates and times to do the work was seemless. Cleanup and taking away the old deck material was also taken care of. They replaced our 25 yr old faded and coming apart vinyl decking.

I can't say enough about the quality of work and professionalism from all Raincity workers. From start to finish they were polite, explained what was going on and consulted with me before continuing the work. We needed a waterproof deck repaired/replaced. We selected Duradeck and are very pleased with the result.
The deck was and still is surrounded by a custom cedar railing that they removed and reinstalled completely. They also left the worksite clean and tidy.

Nick, Kelly, Kellen and team were the upmost in professional throughout the whole process. We greatly appreciate their specialization in deck repair (as opposed to new deck construction). As a result of this, they are flexible - offering solutions as the project unfolds in a way that is pragmatic and practical. For instance, they retained any parts of the old deck that were still serviceable in order to minimize extra costs. The quality of their work is exemplary. I very closely monitored how the deck was installed, especially the Duradeck vinyl and it was clearly being done with expert hands. They answered our questions at every step and responded to our feedback promptly and insightfully. At one point, we asked if we should replace two additional posts at the end of our deck and they did so promptly and with minimal extra cost (as this work was out of scope). I highly recommend Rain City Decks. I've already referred them to a friend!

Despite some scheduling challenges, Rain City Decks did a great job replacing an old Duradeck.
The crew took pride in their work, and kept the site clean during the install. There were some tricky bits to deal with but everything was restored perfectly. When you rip up an old deck, there are always surprises and any additional necessary work that wasn’t quoted for was clearly explained in advance. Thank You Rain City.

I hired Raincity Decks to address a leak with my small patio and install new vinyl etc. They delivered on time and on budget and did a great job meeting the specs of their detailed quote.
